Established in 1990
HANDSEL GALLERY Established by Michael Matassa in 1990, Handsel Gallery presents a sophisticated mix of contemporary painting, works on paper, glass and ceramics by established and emerging, regional and national artists. Technical excellence, rich color and originality unite imagery ranging from figurative and landscape to pure abstract. Begining in 2005 a select collection of Tribal Artifacts and Textiles was added. Now housed in the heart of Canyon Road in a distinguished contemporary exhibit space designed and built for the gallery in 2001. The gallery has a an urban, contemporary edge, yet is still Santa Fe, with that patina and honesty with walls washed in warm New Mexico light. . Featuring Ceramic artist George Alexander. Painters - Joseph Bellacera, Hilario,Bryan LaFaye, Tom Liesegang, James Strombotne, Selina Trieff, Dominique Werbrouck -Glass artists - Doug Randall and Susan Gott, sculptors John Murray and Don Gialanellaand a very select collection of Tribal Artifacts and Textiles |
